On 3 February 2026, Cadet Sarthak Mohapatra was reported missing while sailing on board M.V. EA JERSEY, managed by Anglo-Eastern.
As per the notification shared with the family, the cadet was last seen at 0615 LT. A cabin and accommodation search was conducted. When he could not be located, the ship’s general alarm was raised and a full muster carried out.
The vessel reduced speed and conducted onboard searches. A DSC distress alert was transmitted, and MRCC Mauritius was informed for search and rescue coordination.
The last known position recorded is 20°40.8N / 060°10.1E. Search operations are stated to be ongoing under MRCC coordination.
