1What would you do after losing one or all ECDIS units?
Explain the company’s contingency plan for the actual installation and show the relevant checklist, familiarisation or drill evidence.
2What is discussed before handing conn to a pilot or similar adviser?
The source lists vessel characteristics, passage, ECDIS status, pilot aids, mooring/anchoring, tugs, UKC and constraints; document and agree the exchange, repeating it when the pilot changes.
Where a finding may arise
RISQ explicitly requires a finding if the bridge team is unfamiliar with the company’s ECDIS-failure contingency plans. Missing navigation procedures or unfamiliarity with the listed controls are other concerns assessed by this question.
