Applicability: Section 8D applies only to cellular container ships. It must not be used for non-cellular ships carrying containers.

Check the vessel’s actual procedures, equipment and records against these points from RISQ 3.2.

Verify Class-approved container lashing, stack-weight and visibility calculations are incorporated in the onboard loading computer/program.Have Class/Administration approval as applicable and coverage of all ship stability requirements.Provide operating instructions and output in the stability-booklet language, with translation where required.Modify and re-approve software when ship changes alter the stability booklet; report stability-related software version changes for approval.At annual survey, test at least one approved condition; retain results for verification when the Administration’s representative is absent.At renewal survey, test all approved loading conditions in the Administration representative’s presence.
