Applicability: Section 8C is for general cargo ships, Ro-Ro ships, timber carriers and non-cellular ships fitted for containers. It must not be used for cellular container ships. Cargo requiring dew-point assessment.

Provide suitable dew-point instruments with spares, in good condition, and calibration records.For wet/dry bulb equipment, keep wet-bulb muslin clean, use distilled reservoir water and ensure the bulb is wet.Take readings clear of exhausts, heat and interfering draughts, on the windward side.Have the applicable dew-point tables or instrument method available.
